Day #1: June 5, 2017
Today was a long day. Baccalaureate just finished, and we were waiting outside the chapel for our ride to pick us up. From Boston to Hong Kong took us fifteen hours, and we had a four hour layover and the group played card games for a little bit. We then went on a three hour plane ride from Hong Kong to Chengdu. After going back to the hotel for a quick break, we visited the temple of the three kingdoms, and then ate hotpot which was super spicy and really different from the hotpot I usually have back home. It made my tummy go a little weird, but then again it has been acting up the past week. After hotpot, we actually went on a scavenger hunt and for this, I was with Georgia, Cai lao shi, and Jelani at the night market called “Wide and Narrow Alleys”. We had a list of things to do, where we had to interact with the tourists and locals to find certain things. My favorite part of this was trying to find a group of people to say our group name which was "蓝色的裤子".
For the first day of the trip, I definitely had a memorable experience.
High: the scavenger hunt
Low: jetlag
Shoutout: group of people for being excited to participate
