Day 15: June 19, 2017

Today started off pretty slow. We were supposed to meet up at 5:45am, but we ended up leaving the hotel at 6:10am, and didn’t get to the Maglev train station until 6:40. By that time, it was way to late to get on the 6:45am train; however, luckily, the next train was at 7, so we didn’t have to wait too long. The high speed train ride was really nice. We were going 300km/min, and the train ride itself was less than ten minutes. When we got to the Shanghai Pudong International Airport, we went to the ticket office and were told that our flight was delayed by an hour and a half, so we got free time to get breakfast. A bunch of us went to a food court upstairs and ate bubble tea and muffins. We later met up at the gate D320, and had free time to play cards or in my case, blog. And soon after, we got on the plane for Hong Kong. The plane ride was really nice. It was the first time in 3 years that I’ve sat in the window seat, but I definitely appreciate it a lot more and it was absolutely beautiful outside. We then had some down time and soon went to dinner at Din Tai Fung, which I was super excited about. But on our way there, the bus driver got into a car accident, so we stayed in the bus for a pretty long time. At Din Tai Fung, we sat at two different tables, so Jungwoo and I ordered for the group. The steamed pork dumplings were exactly the ones back home. It was nice to have food from home. After dinner, we walked around, and a couple of the girls bought face masks. Emily even got copper/dark purple hair dye. We later came back to the hotel and decided to dye Emily's hair. We went to Emily, Tiffany, and my room, 517, went into the bathroom, and started the process. A half an hour later, it was time for everyone to go back to their rooms, so I finished up and rinsed Emily's hair. It surprisingly turned out looking really good, which was pretty awesome.

High: dinner
Low: getting up early today
Shoutout: emily for getting hair dye
